Do I need to sign up to browse listings?

No. Browsing is 100% free with no account, no login, and no sign-up required. Just open the listings page and start exploring.

Will the landlord see my WhatsApp number?

Only if you share it. When you message a landlord, you provide your own contact details — but only what you choose to share. The landlord's number is never shown publicly on the listing.

How long until my listing goes live?

I review every listing before it appears publicly. This typically takes less than 24 hours. You'll be notified by email once your listing is live.

Can I cancel my listing at any time?

Yes — cancel anytime. There are no cancellation fees or penalties. If you cancel mid-month, your listing stays live until the end of the billing period.

Can I list properties outside Ontario?

Yes! I now cover all 13 provinces and territories across Canada — over 170 cities. Whether your property is in BC, Alberta, Quebec, or anywhere else in Canada, you can list it on Aapdu Ghar.

I don't speak great English — can I get help in my own language?

Absolutely. I personally speak Gujarati, Hindi and English, and I'll do my best to help in other Indian languages too. Many hosts mention the languages they speak in their listing description. Reach me via the contact page or WhatsApp — I'm here for you. 🙏

Is Aapdu Ghar only for one community?

No — Aapdu Ghar is for the entire Indian community across Canada (Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali and more), and everyone is welcome from every background and origin. It never discriminates. The platform is built with our community's comforts in mind (vegetarian, Jain & halal-friendly kitchens, Indian family homes, multi-language hosts), and anyone looking for a clean, verified, honest home is welcome here.

How do I know a listing is real and not a scam?

Every listing is personally reviewed by me (Lav), and I take down anything that looks off. That said, always visit the home in person before making any payment or signing any agreement — and never e-Transfer money without a physical viewing first.

Can a landlord list more than one property?

Yes. Each listing is priced separately at $20/month. If you have multiple rooms or units to rent, you can create a separate listing for each one. The first 51 listings ever posted on Aapdu Ghar are completely free — after that, every new listing is $20/month.

What happens after I send a message to a landlord?

Your name, email and WhatsApp number are sent directly to the landlord. They will review your message and reach out to you — usually within 24 hours. There is no middleman involved. If you don't hear back within 48 hours, try messaging another listing or contact us for help.

My room is now rented — how do I stop getting inquiries?

Open your dashboard and click "Mark Rented" on the listing — it's hidden from Browse Listings immediately and no further inquiries come in. When your next room opens up, click "Re-list" and it's live again. Prefer help? Contact Lav via the contact page or WhatsApp and he'll do it for you.

How do I update my listing?

Open your dashboard and click "Edit" on the listing — you can change photos, prices, rooms, contact details and more, anytime. If for any reason you can't make the change yourself, reach out to Lav via the contact page or WhatsApp and he'll handle it for you, free of charge, usually within 24 hours.
