This Privacy Policy explains what information Aapdu Ghar ("we", "us") collects at aapdughar.com, how we use it, and your rights. It applies equally to every user, regardless of background.

1. What we collect

• Account: your name, email, and mobile number(s). Your password is stored hashed by our authentication provider — we never see it.
• Listings: property title, address (or area only, if you choose), description, room and pricing details, facilities, parking, photos (required) and optional videos (up to 5), plus the phone / WhatsApp / email / Instagram contact methods you add.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We never store your full card number — only a Stripe reference and the last 4 digits.
• Automatic: basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for analytics and security only. If an error happens in your browser on our site, we also receive basic technical details about it (the page, the error message, and your browser type) so we can fix it quickly.

2. How we use it

To display your listing, forward tenant inquiries to the emails on it, process your $20/month fee via Stripe (after the 51 free spots), contact you about your listing or support, pre-fill your details on future listings, keep the platform secure, improve the service, and comply with Canadian law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send unsolicited marketing.

3. Privacy of your contact details & address

By default, your contact methods and exact address are kept private — tenants reach you through a form, and your precise location is not shown publicly on the map. You may optionally choose to display your contact details and/or full address publicly; if you do, they become visible to everyone, this is your own choice and risk, and Aapdu Ghar is not responsible or liable for any consequence of that disclosure. We recommend keeping them private.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform: Stripe (payments — stripe.com/privacy), our hosting and database providers, and our email provider for notifications. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the platform. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the platform and share information at your own risk. If a data breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data while your account or listing is active. If you cancel, we delete it within 30 days, except payment records, which we may keep up to 7 years as required by Canadian tax law.

7. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention), and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, email support@aapdughar.com.

8. Cookies & local storage

We use minimal cookies for essential site functionality only (such as keeping you signed in) — no advertising or tracking cookies. We also use your browser's local storage for small conveniences: for example, listings you save before creating an account are kept only on your own device until you sign up (when they move to your account) or you clear your browser data — we never see them. You can disable cookies in your browser without affecting basic browsing.

9. Children

The platform is for users 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes & contact
